Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,
I would like to extend my thanks to the St Angela of the Cross school community for the support you have shown me as I step into the role of acting principal for the remainder of Term 4. I look forward to working together with you in fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment for our students and to a wonderful term ahead.
Upcoming Road Works- Copelands Road
We have recently been advised by the Baw Baw Shire Council of planned road reconstruction work for Copelands Road between Mills road and Lillico road. These works have been scheduled to commence in mid November.
The Baw Baw Shire will continue to provide updates and notice of any specific access needs for the school utilising Copelands Road and we will keep you informed of these communications. Throughout the project, Copelands Road will operate with one-way traffic during construction hours, with traffic controllers onside to assist with safe traffic flow.
To ensure the safety of all students, families and our local community, please be mindful of the following:
- Always obey road signs and speed limits.
- Avoid stopping in the middle of roads and letting children enter/exit cars.
- When walking with your children, please ensure they are supervised while crossing roads and use designated crossings where available.
- Be considerate of other drivers, pedestrians and our neighbours.
2025 Preparation
Shortly we will also begin the process of planning our class lists for the 2025 school year. Whilst this is a difficult and time-consuming task, we are blessed to have such a knowledgeable staff who are aware of student needs and work collaboratively to make professional judgements in relation to class planning and student placement.
If your child has a particular need or there is important information that we should be aware of when considering class placements for the 2025 school year, we ask that parents put this information in writing and submit it via email to principal@stangelawarragul.catholic.edu.au by Wednesday 27th November.
Please note we do not accommodate requests for particular teachers and all requests will be considered on merit but there are no guarantees. Any requests received after the above date will not be taken into consideration and once grades have been set there will be no changes.
We are still finalising our staffing for the 2025 school year and teachers for each grade will be announced in due course. Students will find out who their 2025 teacher is on Monday 16th December, at our ‘Meet the Teacher’ session. Foundation students for 2025 will be notified by a letter home.
Regards,
Rachael Williams | Acting Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians/Carers,
We have had a reported case of headlice in 12B and 34D on Tuesday October 29.
Head lice do not transmit infectious diseases – they are transmitted by having head to head contact with someone who has head lice.
Be reassured to know that head lice are commonly found in places other than at St Angela of the Cross and are very common in school-aged children.
What can you do?
We seek your cooperation in checking your child’s hair and in those instances where head lice or eggs are found, treating your child’s hair. Please visit www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au and search for “head lice (nits)” for advice on finding, treating and preventing head lice.
The school also has additional information available regarding treatment and controlling head lice. Please don’t hesitate to contact the office to obtain this information.
If head lice or eggs are found on your child’s hair you need to inform:
- the school and advise when the treatment has started.
- parents or carers of your child’s friends so they too have the opportunity to detect and treat their children if necessary.
When can my child return to school?
Health regulations requires that where a child has head lice, that child should not return to school until the day after appropriate treatment has started. Please note, this refers only to those children who have live head lice and does not refer to head lice eggs. More information about exclusion requirements can be found by searching for “school exclusion table” at www.health.vic.gov.au.
St Angela of the Cross Primary School is aware that head lice can be a sensitive issue and is committed to maintaining your confidentiality.
