Throughout Term 4 students have been learning about migration to Australia, first contacts and the significance of Australia’s history.

We have borrowed a suitcase full of artefacts from the Melbourne Museum that tells the story of many people who migrated to Australia. 

Students have been exploring these artefacts, making predictions about their stories then learning about why these artefacts are significant today. By looking at an object's physical features, construction, function, design and value, we can deduce many things. The students have read through multiple stories of people who arrived in Australia from all over the world many years ago. 

The students will soon participate in bringing in their own artefacts from home that may have some family or community history to share with the class.
