School Wide Expectations
At St Angela of the Cross, we believe that clear, consistent expectations help create a safe and positive learning environment for every student. School-wide expectations are the shared values and behaviours that guide how we interact, learn, and grow together - in the classroom, on the playground, and beyond.
Why are school-wide expectations important at St Angela of the Cross?
- Consistency: Students know what’s expected no matter where they are or who they're with.
- Safety: Clear boundaries help prevent unsafe behaviour and promote respectful relationships.
- Positive behaviour: Expectations are taught, modelled, and reinforced - not just assumed.
- Belonging: When everyone is on the same page, students feel more connected and supported.
- Learning focus: Fewer disruptions mean more time for quality teaching and learning.
Our school wide expectations of Safe, Inclusive, Respectful and Persistent, are proudly on display in every learning space and have been unpacked with each cohort of students. Our wonderful 3-6 students have also been busy creating posters which we will display around communal areas of our school.
By working together - staff, students, and families - we’re building a caring, supportive environment where every student can thrive!
