Spring has arrived, bringing with it longer daylight hours, warmer weather, and a renewed sense of energy. This season of growth and new beginnings reminds us of the fresh opportunities that lie ahead - for learning, connection, and community.

Father’s Day
Thank you to all the fathers and special father figures who have expressed interest in joining us for our Father’s Day Breakfast this Friday September 5. The staff have kindly offered their time to cater, serve, and supervise so that students can enjoy this special opportunity to share their schooling experience with the important men in
their lives.

The school gates will open at 7:15am, with bacon and egg rolls provided for students and their father figures. A coffee van will also be available in the undercover area for parents to purchase hot drinks.

Fathers and father-figures play an important role in the growth and development of children. Their presence provides a unique influence in shaping healthy masculinity, showing boys what it means to be respectful, kind, and resilient, while also modelling
for girls what positive male relationships look like.

When fathers engage with their children through play, conversation, or simply being present, they show that their true strength is expressed through care, responsibility, and integrity. By role-modelling these values, fathers help build confidence, security, and balance in their children, supporting them to grow into compassionate, respectful, and well-rounded young people.

Our Art Show
We are excited to invite you to our 2025 Art Showcase on Wednesday September 10 between 4:00pm and 6:00pm in the Junior Building and Undercover Area (enter  through the gates). Please remember to use the QR codes to sign in and out. This  helps with our child safety.

This year’s theme, Portraiture & Identity, celebrates how students see  themselves and the world around them. Through self-portraits, sculpture, photography, digital art, and surreal compositions, students have explored how expression, colour, and symbolism capture identity and culture.  Families can look forward to:

• Immersive exhibits with soundscapes and a special “shadow light” experience.
• Performances from our Performing Arts students at 4:30pm and 5:30pm.
• Silent Auction items created by our classes, closing at 5:40pm.

We hope the evening will be a joyful celebration of creativity, imagination, and coming together as a community. It is also a great opportunity for families to see the
wonderful works that happen in our school, especially in the Arts with Mrs Sara Harris, Ms Kasey Burrell and also the Visual Arts with Mrs Claire Pringle. We look forward to seeing you there!

Child Safety Week & Safeguarding Children Week
Next week we acknowledge Child Safety Week and Safeguarding Children Week which are important reminders of our shared responsibility to create safe environments where every child is valued, respected, and protected.

At our school, we remain committed to upholding the highest standards of child safety, guided by policies and practices that place the wellbeing of children at the centre of all we do. We encourage families to continue these important conversations at home, working together to ensure every child feels safe, supported, and able to thrive.

As part of this commitment, our staff have recently reviewed the Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy (available on our school website) to ensure all staff clearly understand their responsibilities and legal obligations.

Throughout next week, students will take part in learning activities that highlight the importance of being safe. Our Year 5/6 students will also lead the way by reviewing our Child Safe and Child Friendly Policy and delivering classroom presentations,  sharing, in their own words, why safety matters and how we can all look after ourselves and others, both in person and online.

Building Works Update
Our school building works are progressing well! Inside, that plastering and roofing is complete and painting has commenced, which is very exciting. The exterior cladding has now been unloaded at the docks and should arrive shortly. Once installed, it will give the impression of an almost finished building. Outside, decks are being  onstructed, a carline waiting shelter and pathways will be concreted over the next month.

At the car line, you may notice a slight adjustment to the space while construction continues on a rammed earth wall, which will become a striking feature of the new development.
