Performing Arts
Performing Arts has been very busy the last two weeks. It is amazing how much we fit in to our lessons.
In Home Room Group 1 we have continued to work on teamwork, imagination and movement. We went on an imaginary teddy bear picnic where we had to buy all our pretend groceries, picnic rugs and games. We then walked through the magical woods and saw butterflies, waterfalls and even a big bad wolf! We reached our destination and shared delicious food and played games.
Last week we went to an amazing pretend birthday party where we gave pretend presents, played party games and ended with a fabulous dance party!
In Home Room Group 2, we have started to learn about Ads and how they are performed on television. We looked at the different techniques Ads use to entice their audience. Techniques included song, bright colours, lifestyle associations and many more.
Students then created their own Ad using these techniques. The students challenge was to sell us something that was absurd such as a toenail or a smelly sock. The Ads were extremely funny and clever. It was wonderful to see their creative ideas come to life through their performances.
