From the Principal

Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,

Our Grade 5/6 students have returned from an exciting and memorable camp in Melbourne, where their behavior was exemplary throughout the trip. Highlights included visits to the MCG, the Eureka Skydeck, Parliament House, the Myer Christmas windows, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The students had the chance to explore these iconic landmarks, building teamwork and creating lasting memories along the way. A huge thank you to all of our dedicated staff for attending and making this trip a success. We are so proud of how our students represented the school!

Late Arrivals and Sign In Procedures:

A reminder to all that our school start time is 8:55am, this is when students line up for morning announcements. By 9:00am students are heading into their classrooms and teachers are mandated to complete the roll at this time.

Children arriving after 9:00am, are to be brought to the office to be signed in by a parent/guardian and will be marked as late arrival on the roll. Students will then be escorted to their classroom by a support staff member.

For the safety of children, it is a parent’s responsibility to ensure you sign your child in and walk them to the office, students should not be doing this unaccompanied.

2025 Preparation:

We are pleased to announce that we have finalised our staffing for the 2025 school year. Details of the teachers for each grade will be shared in due course. We are excited to welcome our new classroom teachers: Mrs Chloe Anderson, Ms Tanya Laidlaw, and Miss Sonia Mancarella to our school community next year.

Students will find out who their 2025 teacher is on Monday 16th December, at our ‘Meet the Teacher’ session. Foundation students for 2025 will be notified by a letter home.

Shortly we will also begin the process of planning our class lists for the 2025 school year. Whilst this is a difficult and time-consuming task, we are blessed to have such knowledgeable staff who are aware of student needs and work collaboratively to make professional judgements in relation to class planning and student placement.

If your child has a particular need or there is important information that we should be aware of when considering class placements for the 2025 school year, we ask that parents put this information in writing and submit it via email to principal@stangelawarragul.catholic.edu.au by Wednesday 27th November.

Please note we do not accommodate requests for particular teachers and all requests will be considered on merit but there are no guarantees. Any requests received after the above date will not be taken into consideration and once grades have been set there will be no changes.

Foundation Orientation:

It was wonderful to see the smiling faces of our 2025 Foundation students as they began their orientation sessions last week. As part of our commitment to inclusivity, we encourage everyone in our school community to warmly welcome and support our new families as they embark on their educational journey at St Angela of the Cross.

The Foundation 2025 students will complete their final orientation session next week. We look forward to continuing this exciting journey with them!
